Film is not dead!

We would like to thank all the Photographers who joined us last Saturday, Bing, Ed, Jeck, Grace and of course Bobot. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your knowledge with the kids.

One of the more interesting parts of the walkabout was the number of film cameras being used. They had everything from half frames, TLR's and Range finders. Here are some of the shots by Ed and Bing.

First day out with the cameras!

Today was the first day the kids had with the cameras. We showed them the basics, turn it on, press here to shoot and let them loose in their community. There is a lot of raw talent here and we are very excited to see what they come up with during the week.

Here are some selected shots by the kids from our first Photo Walkabout in Smokey Mountain.

After shooting we gathered the kids and brought them back to YFF for lecture and critiquing from Bobot Meru. Thanks Kuya Bobot for your time and wisdom.

Teaching the Kids Photography

On Saturday, July 3, our Buhay Ko workshop will revolve around documentary photography. We will be taking our Buhay Ko Bloggers around Smokey Mountain to teach them how to use the cameras that were donated by our friends and partners. Thanks to Nikon, Aiptek and all our buds who gave cameras!

From Buhay Ko Selected
After a few hours of shooting in the field, the kids will troop back to our home base at YFF for some constructive criticism of the pictures they took on their first time out with the cameras.

We could still use some digital cameras, rechargeable batteries and photographers, hobbyist and professionals alike, to mentor the kids. If you still want to help out please contact Ibba Bernardo at buhaykosasm@gmail.com
