"Buhay Ko sa Smokey Mountain" aims to teach 25 scholars from the Smokey Mountain Community how to document and share their lives via prose, photos, videos through personal blogs. The workshops will be taught by prominent Bloggers, Photographers, Writers and Directors. The Manila Jaycees, together with Young Focus Foundation, are working together to empower these kids with the tools and skills to tell their story.

We lucked out with our first speakers Vince Golangco of wheninmanila.com and Hannah Villasis of flaircandy.com. We wanted someone to show the kids what they could achieve with a blog and not many in the Phils have achieved what Hannah and most especially Vince have in such a short period of time.
I'd also like to give a big thanks to Jek and Jef from Rangefinder Pilipinas for all the great shots!

The "Buhay Ko sa Smokey Mountain" project aims to teach 25 scholars from the Smokey Mountain Community how to document and share their lives via prose, photos, videos through personal blogs. The workshops will be taught by prominent Photographers, Writers and Directors. The Manila Jaycees, together with Young Focus Foundation, are working together to empower these kids with the tools and skills to tell their story. Our hope is that the global community is given a glimpse of these children’s lives and more attention will be given this marginalized sector of society.
